Kirby Storm Sewer and Roadway Improvements

GUNDA is providing preliminary engineering design services for the Kirby Drive Storm Sewer and Roadway Improvements project.

The work consists of installation of 72-inch storm sewer on Kirby Drive between Richmond and Westheimer and storm sewer improvements ranging from 24-inch to 48-inch diameter on several other streets that tie into the trunk sewer on Kirby Drive. The roadway improvement work includes reconstruction of the entire roadway with a City of Houston standard concrete roadway consisting of three 11-feet lanes on either side with a 14-feet wide median in the middle with 10-feet wide left turn lanes.

The work also includes new sidewalks, utility relocation and coordination, and new traffic signals. The preliminary engineering report develops and analyses the various alternatives and proposes the best alternative that serves the needs of Upper Kirby, while maintaining traffic mobility during construction.
