As traffic engineering consultants to TxDOT, GUNDA provided a report that detailed traffic projections for 25 miles of SH 146. The purpose of this project was to collect existing traffic volumes and project future traffic volumes for an area of SH 146 from Fairmont Parkway to Texas City Way. GUNDA then facilitated the design for the proposed roadway improvements.
The job required preparation of an existing and projected traffic reports combined into a single document easy to read and useful to the client. The existing traffic data was used to help project the future traffic volumes.
The traffic projections were prepared in the form of Average Daily Traffic and Design Hourly Volumes. The DHVs for 2015 and 2035 were placed on a schematic layout – stick diagram showing the intersections, frontage roads, ramps and main lanes. The ADTs were presented in tabular form to be used for designing the lane configuration and pavement.
